Our work began with listening. Before a single library went out, we spent months in Kibera documenting daily life — the struggles and the strengths of a community that has never lacked for resilience.

What we found made one thing undeniable: books, knowledge, and civic empowerment are not luxuries for children in informal settlements. They are necessities.
